Leonida Secret Spots: Hidden Locations Guide

June 19, 20263 min

Speculative content. GTA 6 has not been released yet. This tip is based on official trailers, leaks and community speculation. Mechanics, figures and locations may differ from the final game.

Map of secret locations, hidden passages, and seemingly inaccessible zones that few players know about across Leonida.

Locations Nobody Knows About

Leonida is packed with zones Rockstar hid behind undocumented mechanics. This guide covers the most significant ones.

Location 1: The Ghost Island of the Keys

Southeast of the Keys, an unnamed island appears on no official map. To reach it:

  1. Take a jet ski from the last dock in the Keys
  2. Head due east for 3-4 minutes
  3. The island appears through the mist at certain hours (between 5am and 7am in-game)

What you'll find:

  • An abandoned military bunker with rare equipment
  • An encrypted logbook (piece of the secret narrative arc puzzle)
  • Fixed spawn of a unique amphibious vehicle

Location 2: The Highlands Mine

In the northwest Highlands, an abandoned mine accessible only on foot:

Approximate coordinates: northwest of Port Gellhorn
Entrance: behind the waterfall, after blasting the blocking rock

What the mine hides

  • Level 1: Ammo caches, survival gear
  • Level 2: Clandestine laboratory — mission triggered automatically
  • Level 3 (restricted access): Connected to the main mission "The Network"

Important: Don't descend to Level 3 before completing Act 2 of the campaign. Enemies there are Level 5.

Location 3: The Abandoned Submarine

In the Everglades, a Cold War Soviet submarine rests at 15m depth in an isolated lake.

Item Location in submarine
Encrypted USB drive Control room, central console
Rare diving gear Armory (forced door)
Classified document Commander's cabin
Weapons cache Rear torpedo bay

To access the armored room: find the code 4-8-15-16-23-42 engraved on the exterior hull.

Location 4: The Tunnel Under Vice City

A tunnel system connects the four main Vice City districts underground.

Known entrances:

  • Wynwood Casino parking, level -3 (behind a maintenance door)
  • Port sewers, manholes marked with a red cross
  • Little Havana's decommissioned metro station

These tunnels are patrolled by a specific gang at night. Avoid confrontations — confined spaces make escape impossible.

Location 5: The Offshore Platform

About 10km off the west coast, an abandoned oil platform is accessible by helicopter or fast boat.

Available activities:

  • Exclusive multiplayer mission (4 players minimum)
  • Resource cache restocked every 48h in-game
  • Starting point for a hidden solo mission

Tips for Secret Hunters

Essential equipment:

  • Night vision goggles (spots accessible only at night)
  • Autonomous diving gear (grade 3 minimum)
  • Amphibious vehicle or jet ski
  • Explosives (C4 or RPG) to unlock certain passages

Timing: Several secrets only trigger at specific in-game times or weather conditions. Check the in-game weather and plan your expeditions accordingly.

Confirmed Easter Eggs

  • The Purple Cow: Visible from the Highlands summit between midnight and 1am
  • The San Andreas Graffiti: On the west wall of Vice City port, tribute to GTA San Andreas
  • The Island Ghost: Silhouette that appears briefly on the Keys ghost island
