Console First, Then PC
GTA VI will launch November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. PC was not mentioned in official communications.
This follows the exact same pattern as GTA V:
- GTA V PS3/360: September 2013
- GTA V PC: April 2015 (+19 months)
Why the Delay?
PC ports require additional work — anti-cheat systems, graphics optimization for thousands of hardware configurations, mod support decisions. Rockstar has historically used the extra time to deliver solid PC versions.
What to Expect on PC
Based on GTA V PC and Red Dead Redemption 2 PC:
- 4K/120fps support
- Ultra-wide monitor support
- PC-exclusive graphics settings (volumetric shadows, tessellation, etc.)
- Keyboard/mouse optimization
- Possibly higher resolution textures than console
Modding Community
GTA V's modding scene is legendary. Rockstar's stance on GTA VI mods is unknown — but the PC version will inevitably be modded. The question is whether Rockstar will be more permissive than they were with FiveM (GTA V multiplayer mod).
Estimated PC Launch
If Rockstar follows GTA V's timeline: late 2027 to early 2028. No official date exists.
